Getting a Full Size Drum Kit
Many people think that they have to go out and buy a full size drum kit right away. This is not true, and it isn’t that common. These big kits can cost a lot of money. So what most people do, is buy a smaller kit, and then they can add on pieces as they go along. All drum sets can be expanded, so you might as well start with a small kit, and build your way up to a full size drum kit.
You do not need much to call your drums a kit. You need a bass drum, a snare drum, at least one tom tom, and a cymbal. This is all you need to have a set. Now, for most drummers, this isn’t going to be enough. You are going to add onto this set to make it a full size drum kit.
But that’s where the fun comes in. No full size kit is the same. You can customize it anyway you like with different pieces. And you can move those pieces into any arrangement that you want. This means that you can personalize your set and customize it to fit your playing style.
Some drummers like to have a lot of interesting sounds. They might want cow bells, rattles, tambourines, and other interesting noises on their set. Other drummers will arrange their set so that they can find a snare drum any where they look. They will have basic sounds, but they will have a lot of them.
If you are looking to get yourself a full kit, your best bet is to start with something basic. Try to figure out your playing needs, and what type of sounds you want to get from your drums. Then you can buy different pieces and add them to your kit.
